Chapter Beginnings
Wake Forest University, founded as Wake Forest Manual Labor Institute, existed for more than a century before women were admitted in 1942. In 1993, the women of the local Thymes Society asked to affiliate with Kappa Alpha Theta, and Zeta Omicron Chapter became the first of six new NPC groups established at Wake Forest. Zeta Omicron Chapter left the campus in 2002 and returned in 2013.
Notable Thetas
From the very beginning, Theta alumnae have distinguished themselves in their careers and their volunteer endeavors. In fact, some are so well-known that they’re household names, and many have the distinction of being the first women in their professional fields. The archives takes this opportunity to recognize some of our more notable sisters.
