Chapter Beginnings
Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, was founded just days after the signing of the Treaty of Paris in 1783, making Dickinson the first college created in the new United States of America. Its sponsor — Dr. Benjamin Rush — was a proponent of equal education for women — making the college a superb location for the Fraternity’s Epsilon Lambda Chapter, installed in 1982.
Notable Thetas
From the very beginning, Theta alumnae have distinguished themselves in their careers and their volunteer endeavors. In fact, some are so well-known that they’re household names, and many have the distinction of being the first women in their professional fields. The archives takes this opportunity to recognize some of our more notable sisters.
