Grand Conventions, 2000-2008: Through words and pictures

Grand Convention, 2000
Tucson, Ariz.
Marsha Rehm Nemitz, Alpha Lambda/Washington:
"For me, June 23, 2000, was a day of extremes. Every emotion and every kind of weather appeared. The pride of being a member of Kappa Alpha Theta for so many years and in so many stages of my life, coupled with the awesome attendance of so many members from all walks of life and all ages gathered in one place was indeed inspiring and thought provoking. Thinking of the volunteer manpower of all the Thetas present at the Convention, the broader scope of all those not present, and the impact we do and can have on the world and on each other defined indelibly the concept of 'a nobler womanhood."

Grand Convention, 2002
Orlando, Fla.
Sheila Viswanathan, Zeta Mu/MIT, delegate report:
"Convention was also an opportunity to understand Kappa Alpha Theta as an international organization. The tradition and ritual that we at Zeta Mu follow is not just for us, it is for the entire Fraternity. Participating in Nike, Initiation, and the Banquet Procession is something I will never forget. I wish other members of my chapter had the opportunity to come to Convention to experience these moments, and to understand that Theta is so much bigger than just our chapter."

Katie Hernandez, Delta Epsilon/Arizona, from The Magazine:
"It was a four-day Theta journey through generations of sisterhood, with a focus on remembering the past, embracing the present, and preparing for the future. It was truly an inspiring event, which brought a deeper understanding of what a truly astounding organization we are all part of."
