Kappa Alpha Theta staff is excited to announce the awards received at last week’s Fraternity Communication Association (FCA) Annual Conference. This annual awards celebration honors outstanding communications work in the fraternity and sorority community. The judges consist of dozens of veteran marketing industry professionals who closely review each submission.
Theta received first place in the “Printed Materials – Educational” category for 150 Years of Kappa Alpha Theta. The coffee table book takes a comprehensive look at Theta’s rich history through archival images and artifacts. Using a decade-by-decade structure, the 96-page hardcover book includes badge and jewelry photographs, historical vignettes, chapter establishments, quotes, and more. This award honors outstanding educational materials (online resources, printed materials such as manuals or handbooks, history books, educational brochures, etc).
Theta also received second place in the “Video Presentation - Educational” category for The Kite, a short film about the story of Theta’s founding, and how our remarkable young women went against the grain to do something that had never been done before. This award honors outstanding efforts related to educational purposes in interface design, educational and entertainment programs, interactive product display, audio, or self-promotion created for distribution or presentation via interactive kiosk, online service, or video.
