Longtime Thetas Become New Friends

My friend Benny (Eleanor Benfer Lohman, Beta Phi/Penn State) turned 99 years old on July 25. After graduating in 1939, Benny joined the U.S. Navy and served during World War II where she met and married her husband who served in the U.S. Air Force. After the war, she pursued a career in physical therapy. Today she is an active member of the local Vets for Veterans organization in Pagosa Springs, Colo. and participates in water aerobics three mornings a week.

Benny and I met at a water aerobics class here in Pagosa Springs and discovered we are the only two Thetas in our small Colorado ski town! It was the love of skiing that brought the Lohmans and the Stansburys to Colorado after retirement. Trying to keep up with Benny, I also participate in water aerobics three mornings a week.
