Empowering Connections: Celebrating National Mentoring Week with ThetaConnect

ThetaConnect exists to facilitate the mentoring experience, providing collegians and alumnae a platform to both find a Theta mentor and to serve as a mentor for other Thetas. Although mentorship is something to be celebrated often, Theta recognizes National Mentoring Week, held Oct. 28 through Nov. 1, to acknowledge mentoring initiatives and to celebrate those who’ve made a difference in our lives through mentorship.

Kappa Alpha Theta celebrates National Mentoring Week in the following ways:

  • Sharing testimonials from those who have participated or are currently participating in mentoring on ThetaConnect
  • Providing mentoring resources that ThetaConnect users can access at any time
  • Continuing to facilitate mentor programming and utilizing our greatest resource (our members) to improve future mentoring programs
  • Encouraging our members to connect with other Thetas using the ThetaConnect platform

Here are some ways you can participate in National Mentoring Week:

  • Celebrate the organizations that have helped facilitate mentoring initiatives in which you have participated.
  • Educate those who are interested in participating in mentoring. Show your Theta friends ThetaConnect and encourage them to join!
  • Connect with other Thetas and share your mentoring story. Theta’s members’ experiences are among its greatest resources. What made you interested in joining a mentoring program? What was your biggest takeaway? Your insight might give someone the confidence to join a mentoring program.
  • Recognize those who have mentored you. Whether you participate in flash mentoring or a mentoring program, take a moment to shine a light on those who have helped you take that next step in your career.

As of today, ThetaConnect boasts more than 13,000 registered members, and it’s available at no cost to Theta members! Visit ThetaConnect today to network with other Thetas who are ready and willing to help or indicate that you would like to serve as a mentor. Contact thetaconnect@kappaalphatheta.org with questions.
