In 2025, Kappa Alpha Theta celebrates 385 members initiated in 1950 who have enjoyed 75 years of membership. Each year, Theta honors 75-year members by gifting them a special pansy pin. These alumnae are called Diamond Thetas in honor of this diamond anniversary.
Theta headquarters staff often receive thank-you notes in return, with members sharing their experiences with Theta sisters on campus and describing what college life was like 75 years ago. These members are featured on the Diamond Thetas page of the Theta website so that all visitors can honor them and read their submitted stories.
The formal practice of recognizing significant membership anniversaries began in 1954 with the recognition of 50-year Thetas. Like today, these members were recognized at Founders Day events. In 1963, Theta expanded the program to recognize 75-year Thetas. Grand Council selected a pansy pin embellished with the coat of arms as a recognition.
We celebrate these members today and all days!
