Theta Foundation's 2021-2022 Scholarship & Grant Report

Theta Foundation recently released its 2021-2022 Scholarship & Grant Impact Report. Even after just one glance, you will quickly see the profound impact that Theta Foundation scholarships and grants make on our members. This past year, Theta Foundation awarded more scholarship dollars than ever before, which is a true testament to our leadership within the Greek community.

In 2022, 360 Theta members and three Theta chapters received close to $918,000 in grant and scholarship funding from Theta Foundation. These scholarships and grants are awarded annually to members pursuing degree programs and/or experiential learning opportunities.

Theta’s most prestigious scholarships–the Founders Memorial Scholarships–award $12,000 each to the top four junior applicants every year. Read more about this year’s recipients on the Theta website.

Shortly after notifications were sent out, Theta Foundation received an outpouring of notes from recipients expressing gratitude for their awards. Below are just a couple among the group.

Angela Goodearl, Eta Phi/Belmont, is one of the 329 members to receive a Theta Foundation scholarship this year. She says, “Kappa Alpha Theta has changed my life. It's empowered me and shaped me into a woman I never thought I could be. It's surrounded me with countless supporters and given me the opportunities to find community in college. I am endlessly thankful for your support in my passions and educational endeavors.”

Erika Chelales, Alpha Phi/Tulane, received a Theta Foundation grant to cover the costs of attending the Society of Interventional Radiology Conference. She says, “The grant support demonstrates that the Theta Foundation values advances in scientific research, novel innovations in health care, the education of young scientific professionals, and the career development of members. I am so proud that Kappa Alpha Theta shares these values with me and is willing to support so many Thetas in their endeavors, so that we may continue our education and growth, both personally and professionally.”
